monday thoughts

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS!..................THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS JOURNAL IS ABOUT!.....................TO  "STIR UP YOUR THOUGHTS,"  AND GET YOU THINKING ABOUT ISSUES IN OUR LIFE, COUNTRY, AND WORLD........

YES, I SUCCEEDED IN GETTING YOU ALL TO THINK ABOUT THINGS YOU NEVER THINK ABOUT1...............THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR OPINIONS!

AND TO A CERTAIN FEW, WHOM I WILL NOT MENTION NAMES, "STICKS AND STONES WILL BREAK MY BONES, BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME!"

YOU ALL FELL INTO MY TRAP!............

I TESTED THE READERS OF THIS JOURNAL, AND FOUND OUT MY ANSWER.

THE ANSWER I FOUND OUT, IS THAT THE AMERICAN POPULATION STILL STIGMATIZES THE PRISONER'S WIFE, AND THE PRISONER HIMSELF.......................THAT IS THE TRUTH, AND THE MINDS OF OUR PEOPLE JUST WILL NEVER CHANGE, UNFORTUNATELY...............................FRAN

It is never a good idea to "trap" people as you put it...it is one thing to ask people's opinions and be open to what they say but another thing to just want to stir up people's thoughts in a non-productive fashion as the word "trap" implies.  I don't think the stigma is always ill-placed on the prisoner but I do think they can prove the stereotype down through their deeds once they have been released, but many don't do that so the stereotype is often appropriate.  As far as the prisoner's wife being stigmatized, I don't think that is right, but it is what happens when you choose to stay in a relationship with someone in prison.  But you too can break that stereotype of the "prisoner's wife" by your actions of showing that you are a good person who is doing good deeds in society.  Stereotypes never change unless the people that are being stereotyped break the mold of said stereotype and prove to the world that they aren't what people say that they are.  That might sound harsh, but that is how I see things.
